Greene ARC, Inc.
Greene ARC, Inc. is a private, nonprofit corporation providing residential, vocational, day support, job support, job opportunities, advocacy and mental health/recovery services to citizens with disabilities of Greene and surrounding counties. Our goal is to promote the independence and employment of individuals with disabilities.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation 49 S. Washington Street, Suite 1, Waynesburg Hours of Operation: Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Psychosocial Rehabilitation is designed to care for individuals with impairing psychiatric disabilities by fostering skills and encouraging self-growth to prevent institutionalization or hospitalization. Our goal is to help clients care for themselves by developing social, vocational and other "living" skills. Such skills include finding ways to help oneself and others independent of professional care. Greene ARC provides local outings where members participate in activities designed to facilitate community integration and the opportunity to practice skills learned in the program. Psychosocial Rehabilitation services are unique as the program provides opportunities for individuals to learn and practice independent living and social skills, receive emotional support, social support, networking opportunities and additional skills to enhance their recovery. Adult Day Training 197 Dunn Station Road, Prosperity, PA 15329 Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Adult Day Training, or ADT, services consist of supervision, training and support in general areas of self-care, communication, community participation and socialization. Areas of emphasis include; therapeutic activities, fine and gross motor development, mobility, use of community resources and relationship development. The ADT program addresses community needs with Greene ARC providing day services for individuals with a complex diagnosis. Most of the people who utilize the program are non-ambulatory, non-verbal and medically fragile. These individuals rely on Greene ARC for daily programming that incorporates activities that promote overall wellness including physical range of motion, daily living skills and opportunities to engage in socialization with their peers. Deborah C. has participated in both ARC programs for several years as well as resides at one of the community homes. In 2018, Deb was the Greene County recipient of Beacon Health Options' Leadership and Recovery Award. This award is given to highlight an individual's progress and continued engagement in recovery as well as their work to encourage others through their respective journeys. Deb has successfully worked at Wendy's in Waynesburg for the last three years. She continues to defy stigma and works hard to inspire others to become more independent while striving for their goals. Greene ARC is always looking for people who want to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You can:
