Not long ago, the Salvation Army helped a local family that was struggling due to medical issues. A single father with two children was suffering from congestive heart failure and was no longer able to work. With support from the Greene County United Way, we were able to help them through the Emergency Utility Assistance program. That help allowed them to make ends meet until his disability determination was approved. Dad was so grateful as he was able to focus on his health and taking care of his two children.
Salvation Army - Greene County Service Center is always looking for volunteers to help in the free clothing warehouse, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. They also need Produce to the People volunteers to pass out food as well as Bell Ringers during their Kettle Campaign. Volunteering is one way that you can make a difference within your community.
