2022 Greene County United Way's Food Fight!
The GCUW Food Fight was a huge success! Congratulations to our People's Choice winner, Piccolo's BBQ with their smoked queso dip and chips. Our Judge's Choice winner was Willow Tree Farms Bakery's ho ho cake. And the Donut Wall from 5 Kidz Kandy was an attendee favorite too, along with the wine from Thistlethwaite Vineyards and coffee from Hilltop Packs Coffee Company. The delicious food and drinks AND amazing people made for a wonderful evening.

We were honored to recognize the 2022 Community Impact Fund grant award winners. Congratulations to Blueprints, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Pittsburgh Greene County, Corner Cupboard Food Bank Inc, Cornerstone Care, Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA, Dress for Success Pittsburgh, Eva K. Bowlby Public Library, Flenniken Public Library, Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, Greene Arc, Inc., Greene County CASA, Salvation Army- Greene County, and WWJD Christian Center.
Throughout the evening, we had a wonderful group of volunteers who kept the show running smoothly. They did everything from check people in to serve food and bus tables. As always, I'm overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our volunteers.
And finally, one last huge shout out to Joshuah Dains, GCUW's Board President, for emceeing the Food Fight. He did an amazing job.

The GCUW Food Fight is a head-to-head culinary showdown with four categories - Appetizers, Sides, Entrees, and Desserts!
Chefs will be videoed creating their favorite dish that will be critiqued by local judges to select a winner from each course. (Videos will air weekly on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram beginning March 31). Each winner will be invited to participate in our Best of the Best Competition dinner, an in-person event*, on Thursday, April 28 at Valley View Farm. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste each dish and vote for the overall winner of this year's competition. Tickets are $35 per person and will include a three-course dinner, a Chinese auction, raffles, door prizes, an award presentation and more! All proceeds benefit Greene County United Way, where 100% of the profits will go to local programs supporting financial stability, health and wellness, and the education of our community. |
